Mrs. Palmieri was born on Sept. 1, 1925 in Elizabeth, the youngest child of the late Vita and Joseph Arnone. She was a graduate of Battin High School, Elizabeth, and was employed as a secretary and Realtor before moving to Linden in 1952 with her husband, the late Nicholas F. Her Italian meatballs and eggplant parmesan were always the highlights of family events.
She moved to Sunrise of Bridgewater Assisted Living Facility in 2020, where she enjoyed playing Bingo, met new friends among staff and neighbors and stayed in touch with family and friends by cellphone and email.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband in 2012; her beloved daughter, Vita Palmieri Mekovetz, in 2022, and her five siblings. Surviving are two daughters, Rae Palmieri Hutton and her husband, Tom, of Manalapan and Bolivia, NC, and Claudia Palmieri Jursik of Kure Beach, NC; a son, Dr. Nicholas F. Palmieri Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Mendham; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
