Byron Johnson, 66, of Linden, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, February 8th from 12 noon to 2 p.m. in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street Linden. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m.

Byron Johnson was born October 14, 1958  in Harrisburg Pennsylvania to the late Magaline Barnes Johnson and Brady Johnson. They soon moved to Linden, NJ, where he spent the majority of his life. He graduated from LInden High School in 1976, and soon after picked up his true calling; Driving trucks. In 1985 he married Sylvia (Haynes) Johnson. Though they divorced in 1992, they maintained both love and friendship until her passing in 2022.  In 2015 he met his love and partner, Linda Harris, who he happily lived with until the time of his untimely passing

Byron lived a life full of love and kindness. His sense of humor, charm, and stories were unmatched. He made friends with everyone he encountered and could be as sweet as the candy you would rarely find him without.  His distinctive and easy laughter was contagious and he was a joy to be around. He was always quick to visit his expansive network of friends and family and always quick to lend a helping hand and a kind word. If anything else, he would leave you with a smile on your face.

Byron was predeceased by his parents, Magaline Johnson and Brady Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory his partner, Linda Jones,siblings, Beverlee Johnson and Theodore Johnson. His sister-in-law Gretchen Haynes, brothers-in law, Harold Haynes, Eric Parks, Jerome Parks, and   5 children; Rashan Sampson, daughter in law Rebecca Bartell Sampson, Rashaabbaar Sampson, daughter-in-law Amy Taylor  Shantel Johnson, Latreese McClain, son-in-law Eric McClain, Jessica Daniels, and James Clapp Zimbardi, and son in law Raheem Harris. Grandchildren Jasmine Bartell, Diamond Sampson, Tiffany Sampson, Layla Doss, Aaron Doss, Danielle Sampson, Brianna Hammonds, Eric McClain, Isaiah McClain, Olivia Zimbardi, Brandon Zimbardi, Zachary Zimbardi, Ivy Sampson, and RJ Sampson.  He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
