Catherine F Giesler passed away at 92 years of age on March 18, 2026.

Born to Bernard J and Catherine Connolly Giesler, Catherine was the third of five children.  She lived on Reid Street in Elizabeth, NJ for 50 years.  For 37 years she made her home in Linden and for the last 5 years she lived at the Woodlands in Plainfield.

Catherine attended Sacred Heart Grammer School and St. Patrick High School.  She graduated from the Elizabeth General School of Nursing in 1954.  She worked at her alma mater as a medical-surgical nurse, eventually transitioning to private duty.  After a brief retirement, she worked at a nursing care facility until the age of 72.  Throughout her life Catherine gave her time, her attention and her compassion to her patients.

Known as Kathleen to her siblings and friends, she was 'Aunt Kash' to her 11 nieces/nephews, 9 great nieces/nephew, and 2 great-great nieces and 1 great-great nephew.

She was kind, gentle, supportive and loving to us all.  She was in the delivery room when many of us were born.  Aunt Kash was our favorite babysitter, allowing us to stay up after bedtime, watch our favorite shows, and take us to Spirito's for pizza.  She hosted Easter every year.  Her two-bedroom apartment was filled with over 30 family members.  From happy hour to the best fairy pie the evening always concluded with the Giesler version of 'In Your Easter Bonnet'.

Catherine enjoyed the small joys that make life feel full: a glass of wine with pretzels and cashews in the middle of the afternoon, reading a good book, and vacationing with the family and friends she loved.

Catherine is predeceased by her brother Bernard, Jr., and her sisters:  Mary V Koval, Bernadette Skeans, and Dorothy Mullady.  We take comfort in knowing that she is together again with her parents and siblings, sitting around the familiar table in heaven.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 - on what would have been Catherine's 93rd birthday – at Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 East Blancke Street, Linden, NJ from 9:00 – 10:30 am, followed by an 11 am Funeral Mass in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 220 East Blancke Street, Linden.  Internment of her cremains in the family plot at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia will take place at a later date.
