It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donna Cifello-Weldon.

Donna was born on February 7th, 1960, and departed from us on June 27th, 2026. The

memory she has left with us is immense and immeasurable. While Donna may be

gone…the spirit of family she championed in life will persist.

Donna was preceded by her parents, Charles and Connie Cifello. She is survived

by her loving husband, Thomas Weldon, with whom she was married for over thirty-nine

years, and her beloved sister and brother, Darlene Eastman and Charlie Cifello. She

bore no children, but she is remembered by four nephews (Brian, Roy, Troy, and Cole)

and one niece (Kimberly). All of whom she loved and cared for like they were her own.

She is further survived by three great-nieces (Mia, Meadow, and Nia) and two great-nephews (Jaylen and Chase).

Donna was perhaps the kindest person we ever had the privilege of knowing.

One who never allowed life’s hardships to get the best of her. A lover of chocolate and

carousels, a hater of Tom Cruise, an avid cinephile and traveler. Her most prized

possessions were not material. They were familial. She took great care in tending to the

bonds that threaded us all together. She enriched the lives of those whom she loved

most through her acts of kindness and her gestures of love. She has irrevocably

touched people with her light and thoughtfulness. Throughout all of our lives, she has

always been there. Every sports game, every recital, every holiday, and every

graduation. A permanent and vital fixture. Death does not, and will not, erase such a profound permanence.

Rather than recount every milestone of Donna's life, we'd rather remember the

moments that best captured who she was. We instead would like to evoke a memory

that took place a few weeks before her passing. To a time when she was surrounded by

her closest family. There was a fullness that night. A palpable closeness that our family

had not felt for such a long time in the home that housed some of our fondest

memories. May we all choose to remember her that way. Not in her sickness, not in the

disease that ravaged her body in the end. But the infectious spirit and spitfire laugh that

echoed off the walls and the love that eclipsed all of the pain and all of the hardships.

Surrounded by the family she so carefully cultivated. That was her final gift to us all.

That in the end, family is one of the few things in this world that can ground us to a

common purpose. That in the grand scheme of things…this is all we have. It’s the entire point.

Grief is an open door. One that we all must inevitably walk through. The comfort

is knowing that family will always be there to greet us on the other side of it. A sentiment

that Donna would wholeheartedly agree with.

There are currently no plans for a viewing at this time. A memorial service will be

planned in the near future for family and friends. In the meantime, please show your

remembrance for Donna through acts of kindness. Instead of flowers, please consider

donating to the American Cancer Society and/or Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center.

Look to the sky. Look for the birds. Stop to smell the roses. But most important of

all…laugh. Laugh until your eyes are wet with tears and your ribs hurt and your belly

feels like it might burst. Her legacy demands it.

We love you to the moon and back, Donna. Rest easy; we’ll see you on the other side.
