Obituary

Doris ("Dorie") Klett Handschuh, 81, a life-long Linden resident entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 16, 2022. Doris was born in the family home on Curtis Street to the late Mary (Nadaskay) and Frank A. Klett Sr. on March 30, 1941.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 9 am from the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home 301 E. Blancke Street Linden. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Elizabeth of Hungary R.C. Church Linden at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery Colonia. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, December 27 th from 3pm. to 7pm.

She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth Grammar School and Linden High School. She was a life-long communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary R.C. Church, past member of the adult choir, Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and did volunteer work in the Rectory.

She was a member of St. Catherine Auxiliary, Sisters of St. Dominic, Caldwell, NJ since its inception, and a Caldwell Dominican Associate since 2007.

Doris was employed as a Human Resources Supervisor for Alcan Aluminum Corp., and ACuPowder International, Union NJ for 45 years, retiring in 2003.

She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur W. Handschuh (1983); her parents Frank Sr. (1973) and Mary Nadaskay Klett (1985);her Godparents, Mildred (1980) and Harold (1988) Kelly, her sisters, Sr. Evelyn Frances. O.P. (2000), Julia Klett Spadora (2009); her brothers, Frank Klett Jr. (2007), Robert Klett Sr. (2016), Charles J. Klett (2019), her sisters-in-law, Joan Sweeney Klett (1982); Lillian Decker Klett (2002) and Mary Hudson Klett, her brothers-in-laws, Anthony Spadora Sr. (1993) and Charles Riechers (2011); her nieces, Penny Ann Rieschers (1973); Anne Marie Spadora (1974); Lillian Klett Hutchison (2016); her nephew, Robert Klett Jr. (2016); her grand-nephews and niece, Joseph Ahern (1987); Stephanie Spadora (1988); Christopher Boschen (2012); and dear friends Nancy Kelly Noone (2009) and Rev. Msgr. Joseph Petrillo (2013).

Doris is survived by her sister Catherine Riechers; her sister-in-law Amelia Kazary: 15 nieces and nephews; 43 Grand-nieces and nephews; 32 Great-grand nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
