Dorothy "Elaine" Marsen Ayres, 97, a life-long Linden resident, entered into eternal rest on Friday June2, 2023. Friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral from the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home 301 East Blancke St. Linden on Thursday June 8, 2023 at 9am. The Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Elizabeth R. C. Church Linden 10am. Cremation Private. Visiting hours are Wednesday June 7 from 6pm-8pm. Elaine was born on March 21, 1926 to the late John and Dorothy Walters Marsen. In 1949 she married Everett Ayres. and became a homemaker. Later in life she became a volunteer at Rahway Hospital for many years accumulating many thousands of hours in the coffee shop and selling raffle tickets at "Elevator 11". Elaine was also a avid oil painter. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church and a member of the Rosary Altar Society and Encounterites with Christ. Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Everett R. Ayres who died in 1992 and the loving mother of the late Kevin B. Ayres who died in 1992. Surviving is her devoted son Bob Ayres. In Lieu of Flowers donations to St. Elizabeth Church in her memory would be appreciated
