Dorothy E. Nelligan Pierga, 77, of Linden, entered into eternal rest on Sunday August 11th 2024 after a valiant battle against Guillain-Barre Syndrome.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, August 19, 2024 in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street, Street Linden, at 9 a.m. The funeral Mass will be offered in St. Elizabeth Church, Linden, at 10 a.m. Cremation will be private.  Visiting hours are on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Born in Fall River, Mass. she came to Linden as a child, attended St. Theresa Catholic School, and graduated from Linden High School in 1964 and then graduated from Franklin Beautician School Elizabeth. She worked at Christine's Beauty Shop Elizabeth for many years. Dorothy then became a Executive Secretary for A T & T Murray Hill in the Research Dept for 10 years. Dorothy then was an Executive Secretary for Merck & Co. in Rahway and Kenilworth for 10 years retiring in 2013. For the past 30 years Dorothy was a Professional Funeral Home Hairdresser for Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, Werson Funeral Home, Walter Johnson Funeral Home and Holle Funeral Home.

In her younger days Dorothy was an avid Skier who skied in New York State and Europe. She traveled to many places including California, Alaska, Yellowstone Park, Washington D.C. and the pyramids of Egypt, just to name a few.

Dorothy was a cherished and loving friend to many, especially Bob Ayres, Kim Jones, Mike Mezey, Krissy and Chris Nogveira, Myra Walden, Lisa King, Carmen Inoa, Theresa Zawacki, Pat Petrucci, Barbara Faver, Barbara Goralczyk and Betty and Frank Borowicz. Also survived by her nephew Steven Smyth.
