Elizabeth (Lisa) Kopy

Age 102

Linden - Elizabeth left us to be with the Angels on Wednesday, August 31, 2022  after a long illness.

Born in Voznasensk Ukraine in 1920, she fled to various locations in Germany to stay a step ahead of the Russian Army, who had already taken her Father and their home from her. With the help of relatives, she eventually was able to move to Canada with her Mother and Sister. After marrying, and having 2 boys, her family moved to Linden NJ in 1964, where she would live until dementia took control of her.

She was a very hard working, strong, and giving person. Lisa was always totally devoted to her family. Our family was everything to her. If you knew Lisa, you would also know that whoever she met, would suddenly be referred to as "sweetheart".

Lisa was predeceased by her husband Ilko "Alex" Kopy, and her beloved sister Ludmilla (Millie) Shubiak. She leaves behind her 2 loving sons Walter, and his wife Rhoda, and Harry and his wife Debbie. Her Grandchildren Sheri, Courtney and Alex, and 2 great grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Rose Garden Nursing and Rehab facility for their love and unwavering support and compassionate care of our Mom.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 9am in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home 301 E. Blancke Street, Linden. The Funeral Mass held in St. Elizabeth's Church in Linden, at 10AM followed by burial at St Gertrude's Cemetery on Inman Ave, Colonia NJ. Visiting hours are on Monday, September 5th from 5 to 7pm.
