In Loving Memory of Federico Manfredo Sotomayor Córdova

March 10, 1940 – September 12, 2025

Federico Manfredo Sotomayor Córdova passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born in the Ancash region of Peru on March 10, 1940, Federico lived a life full of purpose, strength, and warmth.

A proud retiree of the United Nations, Federico served with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO/OACI), dedicating many years of service to making a difference on a global scale. His discipline and resilience extended beyond his career—he was a skilled martial artist, held a black belt, and operated a martial arts dojo in Lima, Peru, where he passed on his knowledge and love for martial arts to future generations.

Federico was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Angela Portella; his daughters, Gabriela Lozada and Patricia Lozada; and his grandchildren, Jozyah, Sebastian, Anayah, Lyanna, Leo, Nino, and Lily. He also leaves behind his son-in-law, Charles Dominguez.

He is predeceased by his parents, his sisters, and his son-in-law, Woodney Christophe.

Federico's family was the center of his world. His kind spirit, sharp wit, and unforgettable sense of humor brought joy to everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street, Linden, NJ 07036 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
