Frederick H. "Freddie" Clark, 91, passed away at home on Friday, August 5, with his loving family by his side. Born in Trenton, New Jersey Fred attended Trenton Public Schools, and graduated from Trenton Central High School. Fred was drafted into the United States Marine Corps in 1952 during the Korean war, and served until 1954. Soon after leaving the service he joined the family dry cleaning business, Central Tailors and Dry Cleaners on Spring Street in Trenton.
Freddie was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton at an early age, and remained a faithful member until his health prevented him from attending.
In the mid 1960s, Fred became a Corrections Officer for the State of New Jersey Department of Corrections. He was assigned to Trenton State Prison for most of his career, and was briefly assigned to Clinton, Rahway, and the Vroom Building. After being promoted to Lieutenant, Fred was assigned to Jones Farm until his retirement in 1989.
Freddie married his sweetheart, the former Marva B. Gibson in August, 1965, and together they raised three children, Kenneth, Ivylyn, and Clifford.
A humble man, Fred enjoyed the simple things in life like watching CNN, listening to classical music, and watching his Eagles play, and he loved and adored his family, and cherished his close friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Violet Clark; wife Marva; son Kenneth; sister Ivylyn Cunningham; and brother Clifford Anthony Clark, Freddie leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his loving family; daughter, Ivylyn Clark; son Clifford Clark; Granddaughter Kendra Worthy (Eric) all of Ewing; Grandsons Javan Phillips of Trenton and Kenneth Clark (Jamonica) of N. Carolina; Nieces Roxanne Joseph (Ambrose) of California, Vanessa Finley of Ohio; Talaya Sims (Charles) and daughter Marley; nephew Windom Green, Jr. of Ewing; Cousin Stephanie Collins of Illinois, lifelong friends Melvin Colvin and Dorothy of Florence, NJ and good friend Charlie Raynor (Amanda).
