Glenn P
Godsey
April 15, 1964 – August 10, 2023
Glenn Patrick Godsey, 59, of Linden, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on August 10, 2023. He was born at the U.S. Army Hospital in Munich, Germany April 15, 1964, to Patricia Tera Howe and Murray Virgil Godsey. He grew up in San Bernardino, California, and Winfield Park, NJ. He served in the United States Army from 1982 through 1985 as a military police officer Specialist 4, stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Fort Monmouth, New Jersey.
Following his service in the military, he worked as a mortgage banker and then as an entrepreneur for many years. In 1993, he and his wife Kathy started their family in Highlands, New Jersey, where they raised his greatest joys, Kristen, Lauren, and Julianne.
Glenn's passions were spending time with his family and pets, and being on the water and boating.
A loving father, he is remembered as a man who worked hardest to provide a loving and nurturing environment for his children. He prioritized his family over everything else, and prided himself in his role as a father to his children, for whom he always made time and was there. He was well known for his clever "dad jokes" that always made his girls laugh.
Surviving are his beloved daughters Kristen Godsey, Julianne Godsey, Lauren Dervish, and her husband Tristen, and the mother of their children, Kathlena Godsey; his mother Patricia Howe and her husband Thomas; his loving brother Mark Godsey, sister-in-law Monica; their children Morgan and Sam and grandson Simon; aunts and uncles Robert Tera, Nancy Kitchen and Ian Tonnessen, and cousin Tiffany Lucey and her husband Joseph. He is predeceased by his father, Murray Virgil Godsey.
A Mass will be held on Friday, August 18, 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Church Church at 571 Valley Road in Clark, followed by interment at 1:30 at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road in Wrightstown.
Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Best Friends Animal Society.
