Jaime L. Nieves, 89, of Rahway, NJ entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 3PM to 7PM in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street, Linden. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Elizabeth Church, Linden, on Friday, March 20th at 10AM. Interment to follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

Jaime was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he lived in Linden for many years before moving to Rahway 5 years ago.

Jaime was a Machine Operator for Kraft Container Corp and express Container Corp in Port Newark for 30 years before he retired in 1998.

He was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and NY Yankees. He loved gardening tomatoes, farm life, going to Atlantic City and Cruises. He also loved salsa and merengue, caring for his cat Mandy and walking Roxie.

Jaime was the loving husband of 57 years to Carmen Colon Nieves. Loving father to Jaime, Carmen Merced and her husband Noel, Maria Nieves and her life partner Jason Piga, and Adelaida Marrero. Brother to Reuben Nieves, Miriam, Rosa Nieves, Daisy Nieves, Gladys Nieves and Adelaida Nieves. Cherished grandfather to Jaime E. Nieves, James T. Nieves, Angelica Merced, Christian Merced and Jaime Merced. Great-grandfather to Elijah Nieves, Jaime Nieves, Jr and Liam Merced.
