James William
Johnson
June 2, 1943 – February 18, 2023
James William Johnson, aka Jimmy was born June 2, 1943, to the late Andrew and Mary Johnson in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. He was raised by his maternal grandparents Sydney and Emma Wilkerson in South Boston, VA. James moved to Brooklyn, New York where he met and married Theresa Robertson, together they raised five children.
James was the store manager of Shoes ~N~ Stuff located in Brooklyn, NY for many years. He eventually moved to New Jersey and continued his profession career in retail sales for years before retiring. James loved the Lord and worshiped him with his whole heart. God was his first- priority in his life, second was his family. Retirement had given James the freedom to travel; you would often find him heading to Virginia to visit his children and grandchildren. Aside from traveling to visit family, one of James' favorite past times was watching football, he loved the New York Giants (he did get to see them make it to the playoffs this year) if you knew him, you knew that Sundays were a busy day church (Grace Community Church Trenton NJ) in the morning and his beloved Giants in the afternoon he would send play by play text messages to his sons and son-n-laws.
On February 18, 2023, James William Johnson; raised his earthly hand and had taken the hand of his Lord and Savior. He left a body that was broken and entered his new body and forever heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Mary Johnson and his sister Denise Avery.
