James "Jim"  Leo

Father, grandfather, retired from International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 825, 87

James "Jim" Leo, 87, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 28 th , 2023.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2023 in the Leonard Lee Funeral Home, 301 East Blancke, St., Linden, NJ 07036.  A service will be held at 10:30 am in the funeral home on Friday, May 5, 2023.  Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.

Son of the late James and Mary Leo, Jim was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ where he graduated from Jefferson High School and lived in Piscataway and Martinsville, NJ.

Jim was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 825 for over 55 years working as an operator and lead engineer before retiring in 2009.  Jim is also a U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany. In his retirement years, Jim worked at Warrenbrook Golf Course.

Jim was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing and watching golf, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he enjoyed the occasional trip to Miami, FL.

He is predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Geraldine Leo (Daniels), his parents James and Mary and his brothers Albert and William.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters Mary and husband Dennis Gemignani of Richmond, VA, Lauren Leo of North Brunswick, NJ and three grandchildren, Danielle, Cory and Ryan.

In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
