James O'Donnell, 76, of Morris Plains passed from life on Monday, July 22, 2024.

Son of the late Dominick and Mabel O'Donnell, Jimmy was born in Burtonport, Co. Donegal, Ireland.

Immigrating to the United States in 1950, he was raised in Elizabeth, NJ where he resided for most of his life. From St. Mary's Grammar School to Morris Plains, he is remembered by all he met.

A truly loyal friend, he enjoyed his companions from childhood until his final days. A quick wit and riotous and unfiltered sense of humor insured his welcome to his new friends in Morris Plains as well as those he kept. His"Hoovers" family made him comfortably at home. He was generous to a fault and a willing addition to any get together. If you were his friend, he was yours forever. A pleasure to all who knew him.

Predeceased by his longtime girlfriend Susan Sheridan, he is survived by his "favorite" brother Vincent of Roselle Park and an extended circle of friends and family

Jimmy loved dogs. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite animal shelter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Gathering on Saturday, July 27th in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street, Linden from 11a.m. till 1 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
