Jan Kmiotek, 86, of Linden, NJ entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 9 a.m. from the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street Linden. The Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 131 E Edgar Road, Linden, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA. 18901. Visiting hours are on Sunday, May 21st from 3p.m. to 7p.m.

Jan, son of Stanislaw Kmiotek and Maria Gliczak, was born and raised in Jablonka, Poland in 1936. After WWII, Jan served in the Polish Navy and became an Electrician. Through his job, which required travel, he met his bride Janina Gerlach, whom he married in 1964 and settled in her hometown of Domaradz.  Jan furthered his education and became an Electro-Mechanic, repairing sawing machines in a factory as well as tending to a farm which provided for the family. In 1990 Jan immigrated to the United States, planting roots in the Polish Community of Linden, NJ, where he worked as a Maintenance-Man and was an active parishioner of St Theresa's of the Child Jesus Church.  After retiring in 2008, Jan enjoyed spending time with the family, gardening as well as tinkering and fixing things in his workshop.

Jan was the loving husband of 59 years to Janina Gerlach Kmiotek. Loving father to Jurek (Jerry) and his wife Teresa, Dariusz and his wife Paola, Elzbieta (Liz) Dearaujo and Renata Lyszczarz. Cherished grandfather to Piotr, Angelica, Joanna, Krzysztof, Matthew, Manuela, Victoria, Sofia and Leila. Great-grandfather to Adrian.
