Joan B. (Powers) Bernacki, 90, of Clark, NJ entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 19, 2023.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 9 am from the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street Linden. The Funeral Mass will be offered in St. John the Apostle Church Linden/Clark at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4 to 7pm.

Joan was born in Elizabeth, she lived in Linden and Fanwood before moving to Clark 55 years ago.

She was a Graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. Joan was a Registered Nurse working for St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lizmora Nursing Home, Elizabeth Manor Nursing Home and Cranford Eye Care before she retired.

Joan was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clark Knights of Columbus and a communicant of St. John the Apostle Parish for the past 50 years and a member of its Rosary Altar Society.

Joan was the loving wife of 66 years to the late John W. Bernacki who passed away in 2020. She was the loving mother to William and his wife Denise, Katherine Smith and her husband Joseph and Marilyn Yasko and her husband David. Dear sister to Janet Hammill and her husband Matthew.

Cherished grandmother to Sean Smith and his wife Maggie and Alexander Yasko.

In lieu of flowers donations to St. John the Apostle "Sanctuary Project" 1805 Penbrook Terrace, Linden, NJ 07036 in Joan's memory would be appreciated.
