Kathleen C. (Cicarell) Gaylord, 95, a lifelong Rahway, N.J. resident, entered into eternal rest peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home¸301 E. Blancke Street Linden. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Kathy attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated Rahway High School in 1947, with secretarial honors.

In 1948, she was employed as secretary to Vice President/Trust Officer at the former Union County Trust Company, Elizabeth, NJ. She resigned to take care of her family.

After raising her two children Kathy and Robert, she returned to work in 1967 as secretary to the President of the former First National Bank of Scotch Plains, Scotch Plains, NJ. She left in 1971.

In 1972, she was employed by the Linden Board of Education as secretary to the Director of the newly opened Vocational/Technical Building.

She was secretary to several Business Administrators/Board Secretaries for the Linden Board of Education and retired in 2003 as confidential secretary to the Assistant Superintendent of Linden Public Schools.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing card games with friends and family, doing crossword puzzles and loved to bake which she shared with her family, friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed her many vacation in Aruba with family and friends. She was a member of the Union County Education Association and New Jersey Education Association (Retired).

Kathy was predeceased by her parents, William and Rosalie Triana Cicarell; her sister June C. Taranto; and her brother Frank J. Cicarell.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen A. Gaylord, retired Business Administrator/Board Secretary of the Linden Board of Education, her husband, Larry Miranda, retired director of Maintenance, Linden Board of Education, her son Robert M. Gaylord retired Senior Vice President of the PNC Bank and his wife Corie, retired Director of Student Counseling  Services Montgomery Township School District. She was cherished grandmother to Daniel A. Gaylord and his wife Shien Zou, James M. Gaylord and his wife Amanda Danforth, step-granddaughter Victoria D. Miranda and her husband George Saliba, and two great grandsons Finn and Elias and one great-granddaughter Artie.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to the Frank J. Cicarell Scholarship Fund, Elizabeth High School Academy, Elizabeth, NJ and sent to 1309 Sherwood Road, Linden, NJ 07036.
