Larry
Jones
November 6, 1956 – July 21, 2024
"A meaningful life is not being rich, being popular, being highly educated or being perfect.....It is about being real, being humble, being able to share ourselves, and touch the lives of others. It is only then that we could have a full, happy, contented and meaningful life."
On November 06, 1956, in Trenton, New Jersey the Life of the "Beautiful Soul" of Larry Jones began. Having a beautiful soul does not mean he was pure and spotless. It means that Larry consistently came back with a heart of love and compassion despite his imperfections as a human being. Larry was perfectly imperfect. He was born to the late Elouise Kelley. Larry often traveled but he lived his entire life in New Jersey. Although, his life had its challenges, he did not allow the obstacles to interfere with his desire to want to create a meaningful life. He was educated in the Trenton Public School System and graduated from Trenton Central High in 1974. Upon graduation, he spent his summer at Princeton University's gifted students program. He continued his studies at Lehigh University in Bethlehem Pa. Larry was employed by Trenton Psychiatric Hospital, The City of Trenton and recently Retired from Volunteers of America.
Larry was an avid reader and he loved to engage in meaningful conversations. He was a comedian at heart. He actively fellowshipped with the Narcotics Anonymous community and was proud to have 30 years of clean time with no relapses. He was extremely supportive and often focused on helping others in their pursue to maintain a drug-free lifestyle. Larry was a man of faith who not only believed in God but, he trusted him wholeheartedly. He loved good music, good food and laughter. Although Larry did not have any children, he loved his cats Rosie, Mo, Sally from the Valley, and Max. He referred to them as family. He also cared for the community stray cats. Growing up, Larry was active with the Boy Scouts of America.
Alert and responsive until his last hours, he quietly transitioned to eternal life on Sunday, July 21, 2024. The lives he touched were endless and now that he is gone, there's an emptiness that can never be replaced. He will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed.
In addition to his mother Elouise Kelley, Larry was predeceased by his Grandmother Elease Taylor, Grandfather Marshall Jones, and Aunt Elizabeth Esaw.
Left to cherish his life: his love Donna Pugsley, his siblings Rosemarie Jones, Carrie Jones (Tim), Garry Jones (Shanda), Edward Kelley (Bernadette), Antoinette Kelley (Jerome); his nieces and nephews : Tiffany Ramsey (Derrick), Cesare Kelley, Anthony Kelley, Chelsea Wells, Cameron Perry (Chantese), Charese Johnson, and Brian Johnson. First cousins Brenda Esaw Howard (Michael) and Arthur Esaw (Corentha). and a host of other relatives and friends.
