Obituary

Lois C. Miller (Davis)

Lois C. Miller entered into eternal rest on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness, warmth, and generosity touched all who knew her.

Lois was born in Turner, Maine, to the late Ansel (Merle) Davis and Gertrude (Bray) Davis. In 1938, her family relocated to Linden, New Jersey, where she spent the remainder of her childhood and adult life. From the young age of six, Lois helped deliver newspapers for her father's newspaper business, demonstrating the strong work ethic and dedication that would remain with her throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, retired Linden Fire Captain Thomas Miller.

Before dedicating herself to raising her family in 1956, Lois was employed by Woolworth & Co. in Linden, Bamberger's Department Store in Newark, and General Aniline in Linden.

Lois was the loving mother of Deborah Matlosz and her late husband, Lenny; Susan Guenther; Michelle Jerue and her husband, Jeffrey; Thomas Miller; and Timothy Miller and his wife, Fatima.

She was the dear sister of Gloria Growney of Edison and the late Gordon Davis, William Davis, and Shirley Hamilton.

Lois was the cherished grandmother of Jessica Matlosz Slawinski and her husband, Jason; Stacey Erica Guenther and her fiancé, Jose Linares; Alyssa Matlosz Bass and her husband, Jason; Matthew Matlosz and his wife, Amber; Aniston Maria Miller and her fiancée, Alyssa Rossi and Austin Timothy Miller

She was the proud great-grandmother of Vivian and Priscilla Bass.

Lois was also a loving fur-grandmother to Tyke Louis Slawinski, Lexi Jerue, Melo Matlosz and Stinky & Melo Guenther.

She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Lois had a passion for baking and gardening and found joy in sharing both with family and friends. She enjoyed a good cup of tea, playing cards, shopping trips, and spending time chatting with anyone who came to visit. She loved bowling and was a member of a bowling league for many years. She also enjoyed making ceramics, expressing her creativity through pottery and other hand crafted pieces. Her welcoming spirit, warm smile, and caring heart made everyone feel at home.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 East Blancke Street, Linden, New Jersey.
