Manuel A. Rodrigues, 80, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, and cherished memories.

Born in Valença do Minho, Portugal, Manuel was the beloved son of the late Florencia Gonçalves Rodrigues and Amadeu Tavares Rodrigues. He carried the love of his homeland in his heart throughout his life, while building a wonderful life and family in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he and his beloved wife, Maria A. Rodrigues, shared more than 26 years together.

Manuel was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his five loving children, Carlos, Victor, Marina, Luisa, and Florencia Rodrigues, who will forever carry his love and memory in their hearts. He was the adored grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride and happiness into his life.

He is also survived by his dear siblings, Maria Jose and Jorge Rodrigues, along with many cherished relatives and lifelong friends who were blessed to know and love him.

Manuel lived life with passion and a generous heart. He had an enduring love for soccer, proudly calling himself a Sportinguista at heart. Whether cheering for his beloved Sporting or sharing stories and memories with those around him, his passion was unmistakable. He also found great peace and happiness in caring for his birds, a simple joy that reflected his gentle and caring nature.

Above all, Manuel loved his family. His home was filled with the warmth of family, laughter, stories, and the bonds that meant everything to him. His presence brought comfort and strength to those around him, and his love will continue to live on through every generation that follows.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we are grateful for the life Manuel lived, the love he gave so freely, and the countless memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

May he rest peacefully, reunited with those who went before him, and may his memory remain a blessing to all who knew him.
