Maria Conceição Tomé Figueiredo, 81, of Linden, NJ entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 12, 2024.

Born in Boavista, Lavos, Portugal in 1942, to José Tomé and Rosa Pinto, she was one of six children. Maria, or São as she was also known, was preceded in death by her parents, brother José, and sisters Aline and Alice. Maria was the loving wife of 59 years to Manuel. Loving and caring mother to daughter Olga, son Nelson and wife Jennifer Rachaner. Dear sister to Irene Ferreira, Manuel Tomé and wife Zelia.Cherished grandmother to Tatiana, Gabriella, and Juliana, as well as a host of four-legged grandsons. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many others she cared for as her own.

Maria was not only the Matriarch of the family but someone who treated anyone in her presence like a family member. Her warmth and generosity touched the hearts of all who knew her, and her passion for cooking brought loved ones together around the dinner table, creating cherished memories that will last for generations. Maria's sharp wit made her a commanding presence in any room and made us smile and laugh without fail. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the love, kindness, and legacy she left behind.

Please join us for visitation on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. at Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street, Linden, NJ, to celebrate her life and reflect upon how she touched us all. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend the funeral procession from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 16, at 8 a.m. for the 9 a.m. mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 403 Spring St, in Elizabeth. Interment to follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave in Colonia.
