English:
Maria Irma LunaSeptember 25, 1937 – September 19, 2026Maria Irma Luna, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and the heart of her family, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Edison, New Jersey, at the age of 88.Maria was born on September 25, 1937, in Santa Ana, El Salvador, and spent her childhood in Barrio San Esteban in San Salvador. From a young age, caring for others was simply part of who she was. She helped raise her siblings, Rosa Antonia Domenech, Vilma Ramos, and Maria Lilian Hernandez, learning early the quiet strength and selflessness that would define so much of her life.In January 1987, Maria immigrated to the United States, beginning a new chapter filled with sacrifice, determination, and unwavering devotion to her family. While her children worked to build a better future for their families, Maria devoted herself to helping raise her granddaughters. She became a steady and loving presence in their lives, giving her time, her energy, and her heart to the family she cherished.Maria was the mother of four children: Jorge Luna, Maria Eugenia Gonzalez, Irma Luna, and William Luna. She was a proud grandmother to Yeniffer Luna, Cynthia Luna, Sandy Jessop, Barbara Gonzalez, Anthony Luna, Andrea Luna, and William D. Luna, and a loving great-grandmother to her several great-grandchildren.To know Maria was to know that her legacy cannot be captured by a list of names or dates. Her legacy was generosity and love.Maria gave when she didn't have and shared everything she could. She showed her family that a meaningful life is not necessarily built through grand accomplishments, but through the little things: a helping hand, a meal shared, an open door, and simply being there when someone needed you. There was a magnetism to Maria that drew people in. Her humor was unmatched, always finding a way to bring light to even the darkest of situations. Her presence made people feel cared for. She gave love unconditionally and without expectation, leaving pieces of herself in everyone she touched. And in the end, the love Maria spent her entire life giving came back to her.She took her last breath surrounded by the people who loved her, held by the family and the love she had spent a lifetime nurturing.Maria leaves behind not only her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but generations of people who carry something of her within them: the generosity she modeled, the love she gave so freely, and the reminder that some of the most meaningful lives are built quietly, one small act of love at a time. Her door may now be closed, but the love she gave through it will never leave. All the love she gave was reflected back to her.She will be deeply missed, endlessly remembered, and forever loved.
