Mary Ellen (Murray) Vavro, 72, of Iselin, NJ entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 28, 2024.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, November 2nd from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street, Linden. Cremation will be private.

Mary Ellen was born and raised in Newark she lived in Linden before moving to Iselin in 1998.

Mary Ellen was the loving wife to the late Stanley Vavro who passed away in 2012. She was the loving mother to Christopher and his wife Farida and Michelle Vavro. Loving sister to James Murray and Kathleen DeLello. Cherished grandmother to Nicholas Murphy, Marco Matute, Bella Vavro, Isabel Santana and Liliana Santana.

Mary was absolutely one of a kind. She always had a smile on her face & a positive attitude & knew how to look on the bright side of everything. She was all about family & friends & always selflessly put everyone before herself.

After 50 years of working at PSE&G she retired in 2019 to be a full time grandma. She wasn't into extravagant things. Her simple pleasures were going out to eat, taking small girls trips with her friends, & spending time with her family because she always said family is the most important thing. She was the kindest, sweetest, most caring person & will truly be missed by everyone. Famous for her cheerful greetings like, "How are you on this bright & cheery day?" or "How the hell are ya?", she brought joy & laughter into our lives. The world is a lot less happy & bright without her in it. As she always said, "Until we meet again." We will cherish her memory & hold her spirit close to our hearts. She will never be forgotten.
