Maryalice (Bride) Valvano, 90 of Fanwood, NJ entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:30a.m. (please arrive by 11:15 a.m.) in St. Bartholomew R.C. Church 2032 Westfield Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ.
Maryalice was born in Belmar, NJ she was raised in Roselle before moving meeting and marrying Dennis Valvano, Jr. They lived in Linden, then Rahway, where she lived for 44 years, raising her 8 children, before moving to Fanwood in 2007.
She was a graduate from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Paterson, receiving her RN Degree and working as a nurse before being married. Between raising her family she worked for Rahway Hospital as Head Nurse for many years and for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Newark as a Patient Liaison.
Maryalice was the loving wife to the late Dennis J. Valvano, Jr. who passed away in 2009. She was the devoted mother to Dennis J. Valvano III and his wife Nancy, Theresa Rutkowski and her husband John, Elizabeth Haubrich and her husband Mark, Alice Minneci and her husband Jim, Nancy Raimondi and her husband Dan, Lucy Paradiso and her husband Rob, Mark Valvano and the late Matthew. She is survived by her sister Eileen Sales. She was the cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren: James Valvano, Nicole Lourenco and Dany, Jeanine Rutkowski, Alyse Rutkowski, Shane Rutkowski & Ashley, Alexander Haubrich, Mariel Haubrich, Angela Fiala and Austin, Andrew Raimondi, Louis Raimondi, Julia Raimondi, Lydia Paradiso, Ariana Paradiso, Talia Paradiso, Felicia Paradiso, Nina Paradiso, Saverio Paradiso.
A woman of faith and charity she never stopped learning, making hobbies of tennis, photography, paint by numbers and sewing among others. Maryalice also loved the Yankees, reading, making puzzles, tinkering and staying active, having been a daily swimmer, learning Tai-Chi and most recently walking every day. She had a warm smile for everyone, a saying, a story or a joke. A light, a force, a role model and counselor will be remembered and loved by many.
