Matthew Brown

Heaven welcomed a new angel on July 7, 2025, Matthew Brown. Known to family and friends as Mackie or Mack, he was born on June 9, 1952, to Helen (Tucker) Brown and Matthew Brown Sr. He was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Matthew began his early education in the Elizabeth school system and attended Jefferson High School. He worked at The Armory and the Salvation Army in Newark and Elizabeth, NJ. Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Brown; father, Matthew Brown Sr.; his grandson, Alfquan Minter; his son, Corey Devon Price; and his great-grandson, Javanni Griffin Hewitt. Matthew leaves to cherish fond memories: three daughters, Tamisha Lee Griffin (Hatchet), Tymisha Harris, and Tamirah Smith. A daughter-in-law, April Briggs (Corey). He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Brown, and his wife, Charlotte; his uncle, Issac Tucker, and his wife, Joyce; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
