Patricia A. (Ryan) La Placa, 93, of Linden, NJ entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 24, 2025 at home with her husband by her side.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street, Linden. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Friday, March 28th at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Elizabeth Church, Linden at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park, Linden

Pat was born in Paterson. She was raised in Jersey City and Elizabeth where she graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar and High School. In 1952 she married and moved to Linden to raise her family.

She worked for the Union County Office on Aging in the in the Information Referral Training Department for 20 years before retiring.

Pat was a devote catholic and parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the Linden Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxillary and the Linden Seniors Club.

Pat was very involved in the Linden Democratic Club, 5th Ward Democratic Club and was 5th Ward Committee Women where she also was the first women president.

Patricia was the loving wife of 72 years to Joseph J. La Placa. Loving mother to John La Placa and his wife Patricia, James La Placa and his wife Angela and Pattie Sliazis and her husband Louis. Sister to the late Harold Ryan. Cherished grandmother to Jennifer Merlo and her husband Paul, Joseph La Placa and his wife Lindsey and Alex, Blair, Ryan, Jake and Eric Sliazis. Great-grandmother to 6 great-grandchildren.
