It is with deep sadness that the family of William (Willie, Bill) announces his pass on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Rahway.

Bill was born on September 17, 1945 in Elizabeth, NJ to William and Loretta (Donahue) Morkis. He grew up in Rosell, NJ graduating from Abraham Clark High School in 1963. He proudly serve his country and eventually found The Army National Guard.

William started working as a real estate agent- a career he enjoyed for many years. Bill lived in Linden, NJ taking immense pride in the lawn and shrubs around his home. He also enjoyed sitting in the garage, having a beer and smoking a cigar while listening to his doo wop tapes.

He leave behind his long-time companion, Katheryn Svare, her daughter (who he considered his step daughter) Stacy (David) Grab; Susan (Peter) Ghizzone, and their children and grandchildren (Who he considered his grandchildren). He is also survived by his brother Robert (Red) Morkis, his former sister-in-law Raw Marie Morkis, his nephews Robert (Wandy) Morkis, Christopher (Yvonne) Morkis, Partick (Jennifer) Morkis, and their children and grandchildren.

In addition, Bill leaves behind many friends, especially those at American Legion Post 91 Linden.

Following Bill’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. At a later date a Celebration Gathering will be held.
